as some of the very fist yaoi series published, this is a very old series. the artwork is similar to the "Rose of Versailles/Lady Oscar" works, since most people might be more familiar with that one. still, the style fits the story perfectly- the romanticism of the optic makes the story a bit unreal and etheral while the violent scenes are even more shocking due to the softness of the art. it's a beautiful, shocking and sad work that i'd really recommend to everyone who's looking for a story with a complex plot as well as beautiful artwork!
